The green huntsman spider is a bright green spider that lives in Northern and Central Europe, including Denmark and Britain. It hunts insects among green plants rather than in a web, and its green colour helps it stay hidden.1

Females are about 12 to 16 millimetres long, not counting the legs.1
Males are dark green-olive with a narrower abdomen, red sides and a red to red-brown middle stripe with yellow edges. They are about 7 to 10 millimetres long.1
Young spiders are yellow-brown with dark stripes. They only take on the adult green colours after their last moult the following spring.1
