The broad-headed snake is a small to medium-sized venomous snake that lives only in the Sydney Basin in New South Wales, Australia. It is black with yellow markings and is rare today, so it is protected. It is easy to mistake for a young diamond python.1

In the colder months, adults and young shelter in crevices in sandstone outcrops on exposed cliff edges.
