The Queen Victoria cone is a sea snail with a patterned shell. It lives in the sea off northern Australia. It can sting people, and its venom is being studied for possible pain medicines.1

These pale markings contrast strongly with bands of very dark chocolate-brown stripes that run along the shell.1
Some areas of the shell are partly covered by violet-tinged clouds.1
