The spotted mulga snake is a venomous snake that lives only in Western Australia. It is found in the Murchison region, in dry woodland with stony or loamy soil. Its yellow spots and the way it raises its head and hood like a cobra make it easy to recognise.1

The first known specimen of this species was a female carrying eggs, collected at the Yalgoo region in 1963.1
