The dancing white lady spider is a huntsman spider that lives in the sand dunes of the Namib Desert in Namibia. It hides in burrows during the hot day and comes out at night, when it can tap on the sand to send messages to other spiders.1

Bare sand dunes in the Namib Desert. Each spider lives in a silk-lined burrow dug into the sand, with a territory of about a 3 metre radius around it. It stays in the burrow by day to avoid the heat of the sun.1
