The Mediterranean banded centipede is a long, many-legged animal with bands of black and yellow-gold along its body. It lives in southern Europe, around the Mediterranean and Black Seas, and in parts of North Africa. It can bite, but its venom is less toxic than that of other centipedes in its family.1
