The ocellate river stingray is a freshwater stingray with a round, flat body and yellow-orange spots on its back. It lives in rivers across much of tropical and subtropical South America. It is the most widespread member of its family, and it is sometimes kept in aquaria.1

The exact colour and pattern of spots vary between individuals and between locations.1
