Sunda slow loris
The Sunda slow loris is a small, slow-moving primate with large eyes and a wet nose. It lives in the forests and rainforests of Indonesia, West Malaysia, southern Thailand and Singapore. It is special because it produces a toxin in glands inside its elbows, which it spreads over its fur while grooming.1

Cách nhận biết
- Dark rings around its large eyes and a white nose with a whitish strip that runs up to the forehead1
- A dark stripe that runs from the back of the head along the spine1
- Soft, thick, woolly fur that ranges from light brown to deep reddish brown, with a lighter underside1
- Measures 27 to 38 cm from head to tail, and weighs 599 to 685 g1
- Moves slowly through trees on all four limbs, usually with three limbs attached to a support at a time1
Hay bị nhầm với: The Bengal slow loris is often confused with it. The Sunda slow loris has dark inverse teardrop markings around the eyes that meet the dark stripe on the back of the head, a more distinct white stripe between the eyes, and a browner coat. The Bengal slow loris is larger, greyer and shows less contrast.1
All slow loris species produce a toxin in glands on the insides of their elbows. The animal spreads this toxin over its body and onto its young using its toothcomb while grooming. The toxin is in its saliva-covered fur, and it can bite when threatened.1

Nếu nó cắn
- Rửa sạch vết thương và đi khám.

Giữ an toàn

Thêm về cách giữ an toàn
