Mitä se syö?
Desert death adders feed on lizards, especially skinks and dragons, and on small mammals. They use a lure at the tip of the tail, which wiggles to attract prey. They may lie in ambush for days, waiting for a lizard to approach.1

Myrkkyvoima

Puremat

Desert death adders have large fangs and produce a considerable quantity of toxic venom. The venom is mainly neurotoxic, which means it attacks the nerves. It once had a 50% mortality rate.1

The desert death adder is one of the most venomous land snakes in the world and is regarded as very dangerous. Its venom rarely causes snake bites in Australia today. Its fangs are longer than those of most of Australia's venomous snakes.1

Mitä se tekee, kun se pelästyy?

The desert death adder bites only when a threat or prey is very close. Its colours help it blend in with its surroundings.1

Jos se puree

  • Painesidos ja lastoitus: kääri tiukka joustoside pureman päälle ja sitten ylöspäin koko raajan matkalta, tue raaja lastalla ja pidä henkilö täysin liikkumatta, kunnes apu saapuu.
  • Älä pese puremaa: sairaalassa iholle jääneestä myrkystä voidaan tehdä testi oikean vastamyrkyn valitsemiseksi.

Soita aina ensin hätänumeroon (112, 000, 911). Nämä ovat yleisiä ensiapuohjeita, eivät lääketieteellisiä neuvoja. Ensiavun perusteet

Pysy turvassa
