The Japanese giant centipede is a large centipede that lives mostly in Japan, with reports from other parts of Eastern Asia. It hides in leaf litter, under rocks and in fallen logs during the day, and hunts at night. It can harm people by biting, and it sometimes turns up in gardens and even inside homes.1
