The adults carry their tadpoles to pools of still water after the eggs hatch.1

2

Some of these frogs die when coca farms are sprayed to kill the plants. The spraying happens during the day, when the frogs are active.1

3

Unlike some of its relatives, this frog is difficult to breed in captivity.1

4

It may once have been threatened by capture for the international pet trade. It has since been given a CITES listing, which controls trade in it.1

5

It can live in disturbed areas such as banana plantations, but not in places that have been completely cleared.1
