Zimbabwe brown button spider
The Zimbabwe brown button spider is a small, venomous spider that lives in parts of southern Africa. It is one of the brown button or brown widow spiders, a group of relatives of the black widow. Its bite can cause unpleasant symptoms, but it is not usually as venomous as the black button or black widow spiders.1

- Builds a web low down in vegetation1
- Its egg sac is smooth and spherical1
- The egg sac is pure white when first made and becomes dirty white with age1
- The egg sac has a thin inner sac surrounded by a layer of fluffy threads1
No jiibondiree e: Its web is placed low in vegetation, much like that of Latrodectus geometricus. Its egg sac is different from those of other African species of the same genus, so the egg sac is one way to tell them apart.1
