The Trinidad northern coral snake is a small, venomous snake that lives in forest, savanna and some gardens in Trinidad, north-east Venezuela and nearby parts of northern South America. It is mostly active at night and spends much of its time underground. Its bite is venomous, so it is important to recognise it and give it plenty of room.1
