Poder del veneno

Mordeduras

No published studies describe the venom of this species. It is likely similar to that of its close relative Tropidolaemus wagleri, which is mainly neurotoxic, meaning it attacks the nerves, with a smaller share of hemotoxic components that damage blood and tissue.1

The danger from this species is unknown. Bites from the close relative T. wagleri are not known to be fatal, and their effects are usually local. Any venomous snake can cause a severe allergic reaction called anaphylaxis, which can be fatal, so keep well away from it.1

¿Qué hace cuando se asusta?

Its bright green colour, with broken green patterning, helps it blend into the trees, which hides it from predators and prey.1

Mantente a salvo
