The giant Vietnamese centipede is one of the largest centipedes in its genus, Scolopendra. It lives across Mainland Southeast Asia and in several other parts of Asia. It is a bold hunter that climbs trees, which is unusual for a centipede.1

A 2016 study suggested that it has five distinct colour forms.1
