The bubble cone is a sea snail with a thin, inflated shell. It belongs to the cone snail family, Conidae, and lives in warm waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. It matters because, like all cone snails, it is venomous and can sting people, so live ones should be handled carefully or not at all.1
