The Angolan adder is a viper that lives only in Angola, in central Africa. It is found on the high plateau of central Angola, where it commonly lives on rocky mountain slopes. Scientists know very little about it because fewer than 20 specimens have ever been collected.1

  • It has no supraocular "horns" (raised scales above the eyes).1
  • Its maximum recorded total length, body and tail together, is 40.5 cm.1

常被誤認為： It is often compared with Bitis caudalis. It can be told apart by its heavily speckled belly and by lacking the supraocular horns that B. caudalis has.1
