名字的由來： Its nickname, Oh Boy! Jellyfish, came from an online naming competition, won by a high school teacher who guessed people would say "Oh boy" on meeting it.1

The Bonaire banded box jellyfish is a stinging sea creature described as a new species in 2011. It has been found in the waters of the Dutch Caribbean islands, and it is special because it is the first Tamoya species discovered in over 100 years. Like other box jellyfish, it is venomous, so it is best to keep well away from it.1

Since 1989, three people have reported being stung by this species. The stings caused intense pain and skin damage, and one person needed hospital treatment.1

如果牠螫人

  • 離開水裡，把觸手拿掉（戴手套或用布）。
