The featherleg baboon spider is a large tarantula, a hairy spider that lives in trees. It is found in West Africa, where it spins a tube-shaped web in the lower parts of the forest. Its tan and black markings make it easy to tell apart from other spiders.1

  • The abdomen (the rear part of the body) is tan and creamy, with a black fishbone pattern.1
