The Pueblan coral snake is a venomous snake with bold rings of black, red and yellow. It is found only in the Mexican state of Puebla, where it lives in shrubland at around 1,500 metres above sea level. It belongs to the snake family Elapidae.1

  • The yellow rings are relatively wide and the red rings are relatively narrow.1
  • It lives on the ground (terrestrial).1
