The two-striped night adder is a venomous snake that lives in south-central Africa. It is named for the two pale stripes that run along its body. Its bite injects venom, and no antivenom is available for it.1

Ground colour ranges from ash to auburn to brown.1
Numerous irregular or roughly rectangular black patches sit between two narrow, pale stripes that run the length of the body.1
The belly is dark to dark cream.1
The scales are weakly keeled and have a soft, velvety look.1
Adults usually measure 30 to 50 cm in total length, including the tail.1
