The Galápagos centipede is one of the largest centipedes in the world, reaching up to 30 cm long. It is the only member of its genus on the Galápagos Islands, which hold thirteen centipede species in total. It also lives on mainland Ecuador and Peru and on Cocos Island in Costa Rica.1
