The blue-striped nettle grub is the spiny green caterpillar of a moth. It lives in parts of India, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia, and it is a minor pest of many crops. It is also known as the nettle caterpillar.1

見分け方

  • The larva is pale green, whitish or bright yellowish green on its back.1
  • Three green bands run the length of the body.1
  • It has short spiny bumps along the sides, and the spines at each end are tipped with red.1
  • The cocoon is purple brown.1
  • The adult moth has pale green forewings with reddish-brown markings, and the female has a wider reddish-brown stripe on the thorax.1
