The tasseled scorpionfish is a venomous marine fish that lives on rocky reefs in the Indian and Pacific Oceans. It is the largest species in its genus, and its mottled colours help it blend in with the reef. It hides during the day, so swimmers in shallow water can tread on it by accident.1
