Lesser Asian scorpion
The lesser Asian scorpion is a yellowish scorpion found across much of Asia and in Australia. It lives in dry places with little plant cover and hunts small insects. Its sting is painful, but its venom is less potent than that of some other dangerous scorpions in its family.1

The venom contains neurotoxic proteins, which attack the nerves, and these act on ion channels, the gates that control electrical signals in cells. Stings cause intense pain, redness, swelling and a burning feeling at the site. Some people also report numbness and itching.1

Eziokwu
Two venom proteins, Meucin-24 and Meucin-25, were shown to kill malaria parasites without harming mammal cells, which makes them candidates for anti-malarial drugs.1
It is thought to be the most widely spread species in its genus, and perhaps in the whole family Buthidae.1
Adult females are usually bigger than males, but males have more pectinal teeth.1
