The Panamint rattlesnake is a venomous pitviper that lives in the desert mountains of central and southern Nevada and nearby parts of California. It is found on the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada, so it is a local species of this region. Its bite is venomous, so it should be given plenty of space.1
