Wagner's viper is a venomous snake that lives in the mountains of eastern Turkey and northwestern Iran. It is critically endangered, so it matters a great deal for conservation.1

Grows to a total length of 70 to 95 cm, including the tail.1
Grey base colour with a central row of light brown, yellowish brown or orange blotches that run from the back of the head to the tail.1
Each blotch has black borders.1
Usually has two black blotches on top of the head that form a large dark open V.1
Usually has a dark stripe from the corner of the eye to the angle of the mouth.1
