Kaulback's lance-headed pit viper is a green pit viper that lives only in Asia. It is found in forest, shrubland and grassland in the mountains, at heights of about 1,000 to 1,070 metres. It was first known from just one place in Myanmar, and was later found in Tibet and north-east India.1

It prefers forest, shrubland and grassland at altitudes of 1,015 to 1,066 metres (3,330 to 3,497 feet). It is terrestrial and partly arboreal, so it spends time on the ground and also in trees.1
