Brown forest cobra
The brown forest cobra is a snake that lives in forests, thickets and wooded grasslands in East and Central Africa. It was once thought to be the same animal as the forest cobra, but scientists now count it as a separate species. Its brown back and pale throat help people tell it apart from its close relatives.1
